It takes courage to live your dream

How many of you can honestly say that you have no or at least very few regrets in your life? It takes courage to lead a life that you have orchestrated. Too often I have found that people have a need to share their regrets for not accomplishing what they desired, or that they made choices based on the needs and visions of others and therefore have missed out on their own opportunities and dreams. We seem to enslave and imprison ourselves by our long list of limiting beliefs. That is foolish and certainly a waste of time and energy. Just look around you, no one who is engulfed in doubt, fear and unworthiness becomes successful. All that energy is misplaced energy and by its own definition hinders your growth, your power and your full potentiality.

It is a truth that no one has the power over you and that no one can change your point of view without your willingness to change. We only have power over our own thoughts, ideas and behavior and it is because of our choices that we experience the life that we have. If the life that you are leading is not making you happy or is not serving you, I encourage you to give yourself permission to take a chance on you and begin to create a plan that will allow you to change and step into a new way of living.

I realize that itisn'teasy to change and redirect your life but it is truly more difficult to live a life of regret and limiting beliefs. I am well aware that "Romewasn'tbuilt in a day" and that it will take effort and time to shift from one reality to another, but with courage, a strong will and a desire to change, you can do anything. The choices we make today will affect our tomorrow that is why it is so important to take small steps, create a solid foundation and then begin to build upon that foundation a lifestyle that has meaning and purpose for you.

We all have experienced a moment in time when we made a mistake or regretted our words or actions; that is simply part of the process of life. We all have those experiences because that is how we learn and grow and improve. My main thrust here is not to discuss our regrets or shortcomings but rather to place our focus, our light on the joyful possibilities that you can enjoy and partake in as you continue on your journey through life. Because there are so many unknowns in life that we sometime feel ill-equipped to tackle, we often pull back the reins as we hold fast to what is comfortable and familiar but I would like to suggest that those thoughts or behavior patterns will not help you realize your dreams. It is only through your strong desire to push forward towards your goals that you will have the courage, the strength and the faith to make it happen.

  • It absolutely takes courage to make a change take a risk and try something new or challenging for you.
  • It absolutely takes courage for you to be true to your intention as you pay attention to the details that will allow you to move in the right direction
  • It absolutely takes courage to be patient, as you stay grounded and clear about the process that you are following. Stick-to-itiveness is vital for your success and long-range goals.
  • It absolutely takes courage to discipline you and refuse to be sidetracked or waste time. Don't push off for tomorrow what you can accomplish today because there will always be new encounters to pursue.

A wonderful quote to remember by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: "Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."
